Ratio - Completely new Distraction Free, Super Android Launcher for New World
Assalamu Alaikum, how are you Techtunes community? Hope everybody is well. Today I appeared again with a new tune. Today's tune will discuss a new and different Android Launcher, Ratio Launcher.
Origin of Ratio Launcher

Before we talk about this great Ratio Launcher, let's take a look at its origins. A Berlin-based company called Blloc launched a new phone, the Bloc Zero 18, in 2016. Which is fairly well known in the market. Although the hardware of the phone did not make people so interested, its software attracted a lot of people. They were given an interface on their phone that looked as if they had created something new, bypassing all interfaces.
The monochromatic user interface of the Bloc Zero 18 phone had a completely different concept. Although it looks a bit like a Microsoft phone, its design was quite different.

The distraction-free feature was one of the reasons why the design was appealing to the users. In this age of distraction, the black and white monochromatic user interface of Bloc phones seems to have been a fancy way to keep people free.
What is Ratio Launcher

The ratio is an Android launcher that you can use to give your phone that great user interface of Bloc phone.
As I said before, users love the software and user interface of Bloc phones, and that is why the Bloc company brings Ratio Launcher for all Android users.
Ratio Launcher is still in beta. So far, more than 262,000 people have signed up for the beta version. Their V4 is going to come very soon. They currently have version v.3.3.2 available.

Ratio Launcher Hand on Review
Let's take a look at the full review of this great launcher. We will now see what features we are getting in this wonderful launcher.
Since the Ratio is a launcher so it will replace your phone's default home screen. The ratio has completely changed the concept of what a home screen design can look like. The home screen of your phone has been given a minimalistic look to reduce distraction.

The Ratio Launcher has three views for the home screen, namely, Tree, Root, and Tiles. First, you will see the App Drawer feature in the Tiles section. Referred to as the Drawers of the company. Where you can arrange the apps according to the folder. You can expand or minimize the drawers if you want through different gestures
Tiles section

With the great Drawers feature in the Tiles section, you can find out which apps you are using the most and which ones you spend the most time on. Moreover, by clicking on each app, you can find out the details, when you have used it, how long you have used it, etc. At the same time you can find out how much data the apps have consumed, you can change the app icon, and much more.

At the bottom of the screen, you will find some different features for each app, such as Move, Color, Hide, Lock, Mute, Expend.
If you turn Color on, your specific app will be colorful and if you turn it off, it will be black and white. Moreover, you can switch colors by swiping the bottom right side.

Another nice feature of the drawer is its fingerprint lock system. You can lock any app you want which will be unlocked only with a fingerprint.
With the Mute option, you can turn off notifications for any app.
Root section

Now let's see what is in another section of the home screen Root. If you swipe the screen to the right, another screen will open which they call Root.
The root is basically a feed screen, where you can check the daily activities. You can also search for any need. Qwant search engine will show good search results here. At the bottom of the search results, you will find some recommendations, where you can select Weather, Spotify, YouTube, etc. You can fix the feeds as you like.

At the bottom right of the screen, you will find some more options, such as Sun Mode, Focus Mode, New App Drawer.

With Sun Mode you can light up the entire interface, work with Focus Mode's Distraction-Free, and create a new Drawer with the New App Drawer.
Tree section

There is another section called Tree, also called Conversation Feed. You can come to this Tree screen by swiping to the left of the home screen. Where you will get messages from all the messaging platforms in one place.
As mentioned earlier, the Ratio is a Distraction-Free Launcher. So they have made arrangements so that you can reply to various important messages while keeping your attention. You will get all the chatting apps of your phone such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger messages on the Tree screen. The purpose of giving this feature is that you do not have to enter the apps separately.

We know this very well, the current social media apps and messengers are designed in such a way that you will not know which way your time will go if you enter.
Blloc Desk feature

The best thing about Ratio Launcher is its Blloc Desk feature. Where you can connect your phone to Windows or MacBook via Wifi. You get simultaneous pictures and access to different apps. If you want, you can transfer files between PC and phone by drag and drop without any kind of cable. Moreover, if you write something in Note, it will show on PC in real-time.

Note: However, I would like to make it clear that the Ratio will require all kinds of permissions on your phone to do all its work, as well as it may have huge data and sensitive information on your phone. Although they claim to keep all user data inside the device, they will not send it to the cloud. Even then the decision is yours. And the point is, where I tune in to cybersecurity, I think I should be reminded of that.
Blloc's current business
I personally contacted Blloc and found out that they are not making any more hardware at the moment, they have made their business Ratio based. They are now making money through Ratio's Pro Feature subscription.

Last word
Ratio Launcher can be great for those who have been bored with using the default launcher for a long time and are getting something new and different. Moreover, this Ratio Launcher will be suitable for those who want to work Distraction-Free.
So what is today's tune, of course, tell me if you have experimented with the launcher? If so, what is the experience?
Until today, see you in the next tune, stay well until then. God bless you!
